The app and its services
Ames Consulting, LLC develops CloudLink. CloudLink connects directly to NVIDIA services to authenticate the user, load the user's GeForce NOW library, create streaming sessions, and carry WebRTC media and input traffic. CloudLink uses Sentry for automatic technical diagnostics. It does not operate an advertising or user-account backend, sell personal information, or use diagnostic information for cross-app tracking.
Local information and iCloud
Authentication tokens are stored in the Apple Keychain. Settings and recent app state are stored locally. Custom streaming presets and Quick Launch bookmarks may sync through your iCloud key-value store. A bookmark includes its identifier, game identifier and title, artwork URL, preset identifier, creation and update dates, and last launch date. CloudLink shares a local bookmark snapshot with its widget extension. On iPhone and iPad, bookmarks are indexed for Spotlight. Viewing a game's details also makes its title and identifier available to Apple's search and suggestion features. MetricKit crash and performance summaries are handled by Apple, and the app keeps a small local summary for Settings.
Automatic Diagnostics
When Automatic Diagnostics is enabled in a configured build, CloudLink sends crash reports, fixed technical event labels and limited playback and connection measurements to Sentry for Ames Consulting, LLC. Reports help diagnose failed launches, interruptions, rendering and cleanup problems. They can include app/build and operating-system versions, device type, technical crash stacks, requested video settings, measured frame and network counters, timing and fixed failure reasons. Periodic stream reports are limited to one every 30 seconds, with additional lifecycle and failure reports. Failed or short launches can produce a report even when they do not create a History entry.
Automatic reports exclude NVIDIA credentials, account and service-session identifiers, game titles and identifiers, network/server addresses, request contents, typed text, screenshots, audio, video and gameplay recordings. CloudLink does not upload its full local History or raw app log file automatically. Sentry receives connection information needed to accept an Internet request. CloudLink does not add a persistent tester identity to report payloads, although the SDK keeps local bookkeeping, including a local installation identifier.
Automatic Diagnostics is enabled by default in configured beta and production builds. You can turn it off in Settings > Diagnostics. Turning it off stops new reports and discards pending reports from future uploads. Local cleanup is attempted, but reports already received cannot be recalled by that switch. Reports may wait in a bounded local cache while the device is offline. Sentry retains received reports under the CloudForce project's configured retention limits. Contact CloudLink Support with questions about received diagnostics.
Manual diagnostic exports
CloudLink's manual logs are designed to omit account identifiers, credentials, session identifiers, server addresses, and request contents. A manually exported diagnostic file can still contain app state and connection-health information. Export happens only when you choose it, separately from Automatic Diagnostics. The mobile exporter reads available logs from the current app process within the last 15 minutes, not previous crashed runs. Review the file before sharing it, and do not attach logs or captures to a public issue.
Artwork and service providers
CloudLink downloads artwork from NVIDIA and game artwork hosts, including Steam's content delivery network. These hosts receive your IP address and the artwork request. CloudLink does not attach GeForce NOW sign-in credentials to artwork requests.
NVIDIA, Apple, Sentry and artwork providers receive information for the features described above. Sign-in credentials are stored in the Apple Keychain. Connections to NVIDIA use encrypted HTTPS, secure WebSocket, or WebRTC connections. NVIDIA, Apple and artwork providers handle their service information under their policies. Ames Consulting controls the diagnostic data submitted to its Sentry project. Provider information: Sentry, NVIDIA, Apple, and Steam.
Stream History
CloudLink keeps a Stream History on the device: one record for each stream longer than about 30 seconds, holding the game's name and identifier, when the stream started and ended, why it ended, the quality settings it asked for, and the connection measurements it took while running. Since September 20, 2026 each record also holds what the picture itself did: the frame rate delivered against the frame rate requested, how long decoding one frame took, how many times the picture stopped and for how long, frames dropped and frames that never reached the screen, the refresh rate the screen was running at, whether decoding used the device's own video hardware, and whether the device was hot or in Low Power Mode. These are readings this device took about itself and the video arriving at it. These local History records are not uploaded. Automatic Diagnostics sends a separate limited technical report without the game's title or identifier, as described above. Up to 50 records are kept and the oldest is discarded after that. This is new as of September 16, 2026, and it is the first thing CloudLink retains about what was played rather than how the app was configured. Taken together the log says what you played, when, for how long, and over what kind of connection, which is more than any single field in it. It is stored in local UserDefaults, it is never sent anywhere, it does not sync through iCloud, and it deliberately omits the streaming session identifier, the signalling host, the rig's network address, and WebRTC credentials. Clear Stream History on the History screen deletes every record, signing out deletes them, and uninstalling CloudLink removes them with the rest of the app's local preferences.
Connection Test results
CloudLink also keeps the results of the Connection Test on the device: up to ten runs, each holding what the test measured about the network path, this device and the selected preset, with the verdict and the sentence shown beside each one. A run reads, in addition to what the device already reports about itself: the list of GeForce NOW zones the signed-in account can reach, which comes from NVIDIA's own /v2/serverInfo and is the same call the app makes to start a stream, along with the time each of the first few zones took to answer; the charge level and charging state of any attached controller, from Apple's GameController framework; which radio carried the test's connection, from Apple's Network framework, which reports the Wi-Fi generation and never the network's name, its band, or its signal strength; and what the last stream on this device measured on its own receive path, if one ran since the app was opened. That last figure is held in memory only and is lost when the app closes, although a test result that quotes it is kept with the other results. The zone names are stored, and no address of any kind is, including the GeForce NOW hosts the test opened. The result is stored in local UserDefaults, it is never sent anywhere, and it does not sync through iCloud. Clear Test Results, on the Connection Test screen or in Stream History beside the results themselves, deletes every result; signing out deletes them, and uninstalling CloudLink removes them. Sharing a result is always the reader's own choice, through the share sheet on that screen.
Signing out and deleting information
Signing out deletes the NVIDIA credentials stored by CloudLink and stops account access. Sign out before uninstalling because Apple Keychain items can remain on a device after app removal. You can delete custom presets and Quick Launch bookmarks in the app. Signing out does not delete them. Uninstalling CloudLink removes local preferences and diagnostic summaries. Presets and bookmarks synced through iCloud remain under your Apple ID until you delete them or remove the app's iCloud data. Exported logs remain wherever you choose to save or share them. CloudLink has no server-side user account. Signing out or uninstalling does not delete diagnostic reports already received by Sentry. Contact CloudLink Support about those reports. Requests concerning NVIDIA, Apple, or Steam service data must be made to that provider.
